Welcome to

Stud RDI

Stud RDI is the result of a union of two inseparable friends Gilberto Sayão and Paulo Fernando de Oliveira and their passion for the stories of the thoroughbred and horse competition. In 2008 they had an idea to create the Stud and they chose the name RDI in honor of a famous landscape located in Rio de Janeiro, that in Portuguese is called “Dois Irmãos”.

What they did not know was that by putting their motivation together with the dedication of Alberto Figueiredo to manage their operation, they would write a very successful chapter in horse racing history.

With three bases – US, Brazil, and Argentina – for a little over a decade, the Stud RDI has produced horses that compete in and win G1 races around the world.

The Farms

Our mares are boarded in two traditional and successful farms in South America – Mondesir, located in Bagé, in the south of Brazil, and La Quebrada, in Pilar, in Argentina

Stallions

Our dual hemisphere group winners IMPERADOR and IVAR are back in Argentina and are now on their new careers as stallions at Haras Chenaut and Haras Carampagne in Buenos Aires.

Racing

In 2021, Stud RDI celebrated a rare achievement – having three horses qualified for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships: IMPERADOR, IN LOVE and IVAR. All three horses were from an incredible crop, born in 2015, highlighting the passion, dedication, and dreams of Stud RDI.
